Ingredients

  • One 7-ounce container Giovanni Rana Basil Pesto
  • 1 large French or Italian loaf, sliced on the diagonal into thin slices
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, halved
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Toppings: - roasted cherry tomatoes - fresh mozzarella - fresh basil leaves - red pepper flakes - black olives - ricotta cheese - 1 medium zucchini - lemon peel

Preparation

Preheat the broiler. Lightly brush the bread with oil and rub the surface with the garlic. Broil until lightly golden, 1-2 minutes.

Spread a layer of basil pesto evenly over the bread, top with the other fresh ingredients and serve.
